Definition : Defn: A genus of American herbs, having showy red, white, or purple flowers. Phlox worm (Zo?l.), the larva of an American moth (Heliothis phloxiphaga). It is destructive to phloxes. -- Phlox subulata, the moss pink. See under Moss.
